My musical journey started singing at church with my mother. At the age of 9 I began taking flute lessons at the Escuela Libre de Música de Arecibo at my beautiful Puerto Rico. For five years I played Principal Flute at the schools band. I have always loved singing and in high school I was admitted to the Voice Program of the Preparatory School of the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico (Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico) where I worked on my audition for the Undergraduate Program at the Consevatory.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Voice at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico where I performed principal and secondary opera roles: Amahl, Amahl and the night visitors; First Lady, The Magic Flute and Fiordiligi, Così fan tutte. I recently graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master’s Degree in Voice where I was awarded a Graduate Teaching Assistantship. During my time at WMU I had the opportunity to work in modern opera productions: Queen Dido, Ever Since Eden and Pernille, The Beautiful Bridegroom. I have placed in 3 occasions at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition also I was Honorary Mention at the WMU Concerto Competition 2016, WMU Finalist at the WMU Concerto Competition 2015 and Participant at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions 2015.
Singing is a marvelous adventure and being able to teach others how to join this wonderful adventure is one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had.
