My love of music and violin was fostered by my parents and my high school orchestra director. I fondly remember performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Medina High School Symphony Orchestra and performing with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra in Cleveland. After high school, I earned my bachelor of music degree from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, where I majored in music education. I am finishing up my master’s degree from the University of Michigan. I love living in Canton and look forward to meeting new EMA students!
An experienced orchestral musician, I have performed with the Jackson Symphony, Saginaw Bay Symphony, Lansing Symphony, and many other orchestras in Michigan and Ohio. I love to perform and to help my students feel confident and prepared to share their musical talents!
I have a strong background in string pedagogy and experience in teaching a wide age range of students. I have taught for eight years in the public schools and most recently as a high school and middle school orchestra director. My high school orchestra received straight “superior” ratings at Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association’s district festival in 2017. I am a registered teacher for Suzuki Violin books 1-4 and am comfortable teaching beginning through advanced violin and viola students.
