Animal Adventures in Music at Expressions Music Academy

At Expressions Music Academy, we offer a unique music lesson program designed specifically for children ages 3-6. This engaging curriculum provides a fun and comprehensive introduction to music, covering essential topics like rhythm, note reading, and instrument exposure through interactive games and activities.

Individualized Learning Experience

Our private music lessons are conducted in a one-on-one format, allowing each child to progress at their own pace and explore their interests. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to nurturing your child’s musical journey.

10 Levels of Musical Exploration

Throughout this exciting program, your child will navigate through 10 themed books, each focusing on a different instrument. Each book is filled with learning activities, games, and stickers, structured into levels that build upon one another. Upon completing each level, students receive a themed medal featuring the corresponding color and animal character.

By the end of the program (typically around 60 weeks), students will be able to:

Identify basic music symbols
Read and clap rhythms from quarter notes to sixteenth notes
Read notes across three octaves on the grand staff
Learn about various instruments including piano, guitar, drums, violin, cello, clarinet, saxophone, and more

Upon graduation from this program, students can seamlessly transition into our vocal or instrumental private lesson programs.

Class Structure: Table Time, Rug Time, Stage Time

Animal Adventures classes are divided into three dynamic segments:



Table Time

Students work with their instructor using the Animal Adventures workbook, music staff whiteboards, and flashcards to learn new concepts.



Rug Time

Students engage in rhythm practice and note reading on the Animal Adventures music staff rug, incorporating high-energy games to reinforce learning.



Stage Time

This segment focuses on hands-on exploration of one of the ten instruments covered in the program.

Instrument Learning Opportunities

Throughout each level of the program, students will have opportunities to listen to, see, touch, and learn about various instruments. This exposure lays a strong foundation for future musical studies.

Preparing for Private Lessons

By the time students graduate from the Animal Adventures program, they will be well-prepared to begin private lessons on their chosen instrument. The foundational skills they acquire will benefit them throughout their musical journey.

Schedule and Tuition

Lessons are available in 30-, 45-, and 60-minute sessions occurring once a week. Tuition varies by location and includes:

One free book
A tote bag
A beautiful spinning medal upon passing each level
Optional recitals for interested students

Payment is due on the first day of each month along with a one-time registration fee for new families. It typically takes 1-2 years for students to complete the entire program before transitioning to private instrument or vocal lessons.
