Most children typically start around age 8, when they have the coordination and lung capacity needed for these instruments. However, the appropriate starting age can vary depending on the specific instrument.
We recommend practicing at least 15-30 minutes daily. Consistent, shorter practice sessions are more effective than infrequent longer ones.
While having your own instrument is ideal for regular practice, we can provide guidance on rentals and purchasing options. Many local music stores offer affordable rental programs for beginners.
Woodwind and brass instruments produce sound through the player’s breath and embouchure (mouth position). Each instrument has its own unique characteristics and playing techniques that our instructors will help you master.
