ABOUT OUR VOICE lessons (AGES 6+)
We offer weekly private voice lessons and singing lessons to students starting at age 6 and have 30, 45, and 60-minute lessons available. Lessons are available to beginners as well as self-taught or experienced students in a variety of different styles such as pop, musical theatre/broadway, classical, jazz, gospel, worship, or rock music. We love to work with both casual and serious learners alike, and are happy to accommodate any unique goal you may have.
Voice lessons are conveniently available near you in one of our ten locations in Annandale, Ashburn, Burke, Herndon, Vienna, Novi, West Bloomfield, Plymouth-Canton, Rochester Hills and Troy.
VOICE FOR BEGINNERS
Anyone can learn how to sing! Our voice instructors love working with beginners, and specialize in creating laid-back, positive, and encouraging environments that make students feel comfortable singing. Instructors will use a combination of warm-ups, breathing and tonal exercises, ear training, introduction to stage presence, and of course students’ favorite songs to set a healthy foundation upon which to grow.
VOICE FOR CHILDREN
For younger students under the age of 12, instructors focus on developing skills that will not damage vocal cords which are still maturing. Concepts for this age are more heavily focused on matching pitch, basic breathing technique, reading music, and stage presence, and songs are age-appropriate both in material and vocal demands.
VOICE FOR ADULTS
Our vocal instructors love working with adults, and they know how to make them comfortable and take them to a whole new level with their voice. Our adult students have all different types of goals from nailing their choir solo to auditioning for the worship team at church to casually exploring their longtime hobby of singing, and no matter the goal, we can help get you there while making sure you have the time of your life. Every one of our instructors has been screened, auditioned, interviewed, selected, and trained to teach our students with the utmost patience and care. All our instructors either hold or are pursuing music degrees in music and all have had prior experience teaching music. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING AND MAKEUP OPTIONS 7 DAYS A WEEK
We have many weekday afternoon and evenings and Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon lesson times, and we're open all year round, including the summer. If you need to cancel your lesson or change your lesson time, no problem! Our busy families love our convenient unlimited makeup lesson and schedule change policy. And if you’re too busy or unable to come in for a make-up lesson, you can even request that your teacher create you a custom video make-up lesson instead! There are plenty of flexible options for all.
FREE OPTIONAL RECITALS TWO TIMES PER YEAR
Students want to feel motivated to practice and parents want to see progress, and our optional recitals accomplish both these objectives. We offer a variety of recital options and themes in our very own concert hall twice each year. We pride ourselves on our well-organized, warm, supportive performance events which never last longer than an hour... and they’re entirely free for all involved!
LEVEL UP MUSIC ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
Our students have been enthusiastically climbing from levels 1 through 10, earning certificates, wristbands, stickers, and trophies since we launched this signature program in 2012. Think about the martial arts Black Belt program… but for music lessons! This structured, nationally recognized, and motivating program is completely free (and optional) for Expressions students of all ages, and our students have never been more motivated to master their instrument!
MONTH TO MONTH LESSON STRUCTURE
No long-term quarterly or annual commitments. Students are only committed to a month at time.
